My life is in danger- ex NSA Dasuki cries out, drags FG to court

Former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki who is standing trial over allegations of money laundering and illegal arms possession, yesterday dragged the Federal government before an Abuja high court, saying that his life is in danger. FG has since November 3rd placed the former security chief under house arrest despite a Federal High court ruling instructing the government to hand Dasuki his international passport so he can proceed on a three weeks medical leave.

Dasuki, in a fundamental right enforcement application he filed against the Federal Government yesterday, asked the court to uphold his rights to dignity and security of life. He appealed to the court to issue a mandatory order compelling the Federal Government and its agents, especially the operatives of the DSS, to vacate his house located at 13, John Kadija Street, Asokoro with immediate effect.

His application was based on sections 36(5) 37 and 41 of the 1999 constitution, as amended, as well as on sections 1(1) and (2) and 266 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015.

No date has been fixed for the hearing of his application.
