We talk about what it means to love one another, to care about one another. And the truth is that the most difficult thing in the world there is to do, really, sometimes, is to love someone. Why? When everything is harmonious and great, well then it is simple to love. But what happens when things aren’t so great? What happens to that love? Suddenly it turns to something else.
We need to understand that we love others not just because of what they do for “me” or how they benefit "my" life, but because with all the negative and positive, there is a point at which we join with each other, a point that does not sway. And I am not talking necessarily about romantic relationships here. I am talking about friendships as well. They say a friend is a fellow that knows all about you and still likes you. If we can bring ourselves to this consciousness, to an awareness of our interconnectedness, then we can open up our own vessels for more care and for more love, which is the only thing that really matters anyway because it is the Life-Force of God.
