Army don dey search police as Reps want ICPC to probe EFCC boss

Will the EFCC investigate an allegation levelled against its chairman by itself or for breaching Section 31 of its own Act?
The House of Representatives, rising from a meeting, resolved that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), should not be allowed to handle the probe of its boss,Ibrahim Lamorde.
Punch Newspapers, reports that the Minority Leader of the House, Mr. Leo Ogor, raised a motion, saying “The principle of fair hearing is provided for in the 1999 Constitution. The EFCC is the one accused in this case for non-remittance of N1tn and other recovered assets to the Consolidated Fund of the Federation.
“Will the EFCC investigate an allegation levelled against its chairman by itself or for breaching Section 31 of its own Act?
play“In conducting this investigation, the Chairman of the EFCC and other members of the commission will be involved too. The commission cannot be a judge in its own case.”
This is coming on the heels of a letter purportedly written by theFederal Ministry of Justice, ordering the EFCC into allegations that the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde laundered about N1trillion in funds recovered from corrupt individuals by the agency.
