A man in the northern part of Nigeria has been apprehended by the police over an act of bestiality.
The police in Katsina have apprehended a man (name withheld) who was caught having s*x with a mare, the state commissioner of police Usman Abdullahi has said.
The suspect was arrested having carnal knowledge of the animal at the state polo ground at night.
"Our policemen on patrol went to the area and saw a motorcycle parked. Our officers became suspicious, while searching the area, they cited the man behind a wall naked making love to a horse. It is unfortunate for a human being to make love to an animal," he said.

According to him, the suspects tried to bribe the police with N100,000, but the police rejected their offer. He said that the suspects would be charged to court.
While decrying the attitude, Abdullahi said drug abuse might not be responsible for the unusual behaviour.
He called on religious and community leaders to intensify sensitization on the ills of drug abuse and assured that the police will continue to play its role in sanitizing the society.
