How President dropped ministerial nominee for accepting $5M from Dasuki

According to reports, President Muhammadu Buhari was forced to drop his political associate, Lawal Jafaru Isa as a ministerial nominee after discovering that the latter had accepted $5 million from former National Security Adviser (NSA),Sambo Dasuki.
Isa was supposed to have been nominated as the Kano State nominee but Buhari picked former Chief of Army Staff,Abdulrahman Dambazzau instead, The Cable reports.
“Buhari initially wanted Isa, but he was disappointed when he got this report on him,” a source in the Presidency said.
“Indeed, Buhari delayed naming his cabinet partly because it turned out that many of the people he initially wanted to pick did not pass the integrity test,” the source added.
Isa has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with investigations into the $2.1 billion arms deal fraud which Dasuki allegedly spearheaded.
The former NSA reportedly gave the money to Isa in order to secure his support in the 2015 general elections.
Dasuki is at the center of the massive money laundering investigation and is alleged to have supervised the looting of the funds which were meant for the procurement of arms for Nigeria's military.
He was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) on December 1, 2015 and handed over to the EFCC the day after.
The former NSA is reported to have implicated several prominent persons in the deal including former governors, ex-ministers and members of the PDP.
Dasuki’s lawyer however denied the report that his client had become an informant while the former NSA said that ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan was aware of the transactions he had made.
Jonathan has however denied authorizing the release of the stated funds despite the former NSA’s claim that he got the necessary presidential approval for the transactions.
Dasuki was released on bail from Kuje Prison in December 2015 but was soon re-arrested by the DSS.

“Since he (Obasanjo) became Head of State in 1976, he has always had a hand in who becomes the president of Nigeria. It was said he had a hand in how Alhaji Shehu Shagari became the president of Nigeria in 1979. After Shagari, the next one we had was when he became president in 1999,” he said.
“Look at this paradox, Obasanjo became president 20 years after he was said to have had a hand in how Shagari became president. He also had hand in how the late Alhaji Umar Yar’Adua became president in 2007. He also had hand in how Goodluck Jonathan became president and he had hand in how Muhammadu Buhari became president.
“Tell me if there is any Nigerian that can be said to be greater than that. Obasanjo’s voice in Africa today is about number one. When he talks, everybody knows that Obasanjo has talked. We should not minimise the fact that God decides what he wants to do. I am not a pastor, but I believe that God has a hand in everything that is happening in Nigeria, and even everything that is happening in the world.
“If he calls the United States President, Barack Obama, he doesn’t need to say who is Obasanjo? The world leaders know him. The Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban ki Moon, knows him. He may not be the most righteous but he has been the one that has been so favoured. Buhari became President, essentially because of the vote of the North. Obasanjo became president, not because of the votes of the West, it was not the vote of his own people.
“So, me and my brother (Obasanjo) are not good friends o. We cannot sit down together for one hour without fighting. But it cannot be denied that so far he is the biggest Nigerian and as of today, the greatest African after Nelson Mandela, who is no more,” Ladoja added.

MTN Finally Acquires Visafone, See the Huge Number of Workers Fired

Strong reports have it that MTN has officially taken over Visafone on purchase which has incidentally led to te sack of thousands of workers in the latter. 


MTN, Africa’s leading mobile phone operator, has finally sealed the deal to acquire Visafone, owned by the banking magnate, Mr. Jim Ovia according to the DailyTrust.

The acquisition of Visafone, the only surviving the only surviving Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) operator in Nigeria, by MTN, a GSM operator, marks the final death of CDMA operations in Africa’s largest economy.
Feelers emerged on Wednesday that Visafone was winding down operations and had sacked more than 83 per cent of its workers as part of its acquisition by the MTN Nigeria.

A correspondent of Punch gathered that over 2,000 employees were disengaged with effect from January 5, 2016, and were paid three months’ salaries as severance package.

The only categories of employees said to be left were those in the personnel and transmission departments. One of the affected workers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told a correspondent that the sacking came as a surprise to many of them.

“We learnt that the management would downsize, but we were told that that would be later in 2016. It is, however, surprising that they are sending majority of us away so early in the year. Though they paid three months’ severance benefits, but should it be this way?

“Some of us have put in five to 10 years of our lives in keeping the business going, but see what we are getting now. It is well.”


A senior management employee at Visafone confirmed the sacking, but was quick to refer media enquiries to MTN because he was not authorised to speak on the deal.

When contacted, MTN Nigeria neither denied nor confirmed the deal, but said the management was already working on a statement that would be made available to journalists later in the day or today (Thursday)

How I Was Paid N150,000 to Install Radio Biafra Transmitter on MTN Mast - Suspect

An engineer has given steep details into how he was payed to hoist the transmitter of Radio Biafra onto MTN's mast. 


 
A telecommunication maintenance engineer, David Nwawuisi, has disclosed how he was paid a sum of N150,000 to install a Radio Biafra transmitter on an MTN mast in Ngwo, Enugu State.

Daily Post reports that the 29-year-old Nwawuisi, who was on the payroll of Ericsson, the firm managing mast sites for MTN, revealed this in a statement which he made to the Department of State Services on July 27, 2015.

The suspect said he was managing 45 MTN sites for Ericsson, adding that the Radio Biafra transmitter had operated for three months on MTN mast before it was discovered and his subsequent arrest by the DSS on July 15, 2015.

Nwawuisi, who obtained a B.Sc degree in Biochemistry from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 2010, said he was being paid N73,000 plus per month by Ericsson.

Nwawuisi stated, “I came to know about Chidiebere and Obioma one day the security woman called me to tell me that they will like to install a radio (transmitter) on one of my sites at Ngwo in Enugu State and I told them that I don’t know who they are that if they can make out time so that we can see face to face because I don’t know them and that was in May.

“So the next day, they called me. I was working in one of my sites at St. Michael Catholic Church Asata in Enugu State. I asked them to come down to that site and that was the place I saw them for the first time and they introduced themselves as Chidiebere and Obioma. They also asked for my name and I said David. They also asked for my native name and I said Chukwugozie and from there Chidiebere started saying that the radio (transmitter) they are asking for my permission to install in my site is to help them educate our people (Igbo) and let them know their brothers and where they come from….
 
“They called me again to remind me of that and that was when I told them ok and we agreed that they are going to be paying N25,000 only per month which they paid six months upfront. N75,000 cash was given to me that day they came for the installation and out of that I gave N5,000 to the security woman. The balance was paid into my account at Ecobank after the First Bank (account) I gave to Obioma failed to accept the payment.

“The payment of the balance was done two weeks after the installation of the radio (transmitter). On three different occasions, Chidiebere and Obioma called me to do some maintenance on the radio (transmitter). I gave them access into the site and left and when they finished, the security woman informed me that they are through and I came and locked the site.

“The items Chidiebere came (with) were an electronic that looks like a decoder and a DSTV dish which was installed on the fence. The other items were installed inside the MTN site shelter. The equipment has been there for three months and on July 15 the MTN staff went to the site and called me from the site and asked me what the equipment is. The name of the MTN staff is Mr. John Ibekwe. When he was calling, I couldn’t get what he was asking due to the environment because I was driving and when I parked, I called the security woman to ask her and she told me that is the equipment that Chidiebere and Obioma installed that he is asking of.

“I called back the MTN man to tell him what the equipment is for, that is a Radio Biafra (transmitter) that was installed by Chidiebere and Obioma. I told him that I will like to see him which he asked me to come to Shoprite and I came and after I was taken to the MTN office by the MTN security patrol team. From the office, after telling them how the equipment came about and how I got to know about Chidiebere, I was taken to Enugu DSS office.” (sic)


He stated that the MTN thereafter uninstalled the Radio Biafra transmitter.

I got married married at 20 to a man whom I found as my best friend, courted him for 2 years and we got married, his parents were so nice to me, especially his father, but two years into the marriage no child yet, his mother changed. 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15years nothing came. It wasn't easy for me. On the 15th year of my marriage was when I was promoted to the office of a manager where I work .
 
That was the worst year of my life, my mother inlaw called me all sorts of names, me and my husband were medically ok, but I never stopped trusting God. So one day, I fell sick that I stayed weeks at the hospital, nobody to cook for my husband, my mother came and seeing situation of things went back to the village and brought a certain lady, I won't call her a girl because she has reached the age of 24years. When I came back from hospital, I personally told mama, that this lady is old enough to marry, she started saying, is that the thank you that I will tell her for bringing a helper to me. Before I knew it my husband flared up, saying that I am ungrateful, I apologized and decided to leave the girl. 
 
After 11 months, that she came , she became pregnant, I never heard it from my husbands mouth, what broke my heart was that I heard it from my mother inlaws mouth, she told me to my face that God has proved her sons innocence, that her son is not impotent, I hurriedly left for work because I am used to mamas talks, without reading meaning into her words. When I came back from work, I couldn't find the girl , only for my husband not say to me that she has gone back to village with mama, I was like why, he said I should sit down lets talk.
 
He said to my face that, if I can't get pregnant for him, that I should be able to allow another do what I cannot do, I was like ok, that if he wants to marry another wife, that it's alright by me, because I have advised him on that before so his mother can let me have my peace . He said he has gotten a girl pregnant and he is traveling to the village, that can I follow him? I said but at least you should have shown me the person, that when did he start behaving funny, he said to me that it's this girl mama brought for me. ( it was really hard for me to swallow when I heard that) I blatantly told him, am not going, that how could he be this careless, my own house help!
 
He went married the girl, brought her home! Attention was shifted for my side to hers. I accepted my fate and decided to leave my unborn children in Gods hands. What I refused to do was to leave my room. I refused not be intimidated by my mother inlaw. My work was my only confidant. He married her April 2006, and we welcomed a baby girl that year, it was a bouncing angel, she was so beautiful, full of life, and we lost her to cold 2007, the mother was a careless woman. She took in again and had a miscarriage ( twice) 2008, I went for summer leave abroad, quarrel set in, for good three years my husband never touched me, we sleep in the same room but he doesn't care at all. 
 
My phone rang at night when I picked it was him, saying when am I coming back, I was like, in one week time, he said ok. When I came back, the way he held me inside the room shows that he is undergoing some trauma of some sort. His bears were looking so unkept, his nails were all in different shape and sizes! I first took him to have a hair cut! Came back cut his nails, the lady herself never greeted me, I entered the kitchen and cooked for my husband, he ate and slept till morning. Two,three days, he never woke up early to go to work, I asked him why are you not up early, he said he has been sacked, and that he is owing his company, I asked what do u use the money for, he said he used it to make papers for the lady to go abroad and deliver, but she was denied the visa! I laughed.
 
My story is a long one, pardon me please. My husband has no savings anymore. I feed , cloth, and cook for him, his mother and the lady. He started making love to me again, I can't deny him my body because he is my husband. I have lost hope of taking in, but God proved me wrong. 2011 February I fell sick, terribly thinking it was malaria I went to the pharmacy and bought malaria medicine, took it and continued my work, I started throwing up and my husband asked me to get to the hospital, when I got there, they conducted the tests and pregnancy came out positive, I refused believing but told my husband.
 
I gave birth, and it was a boy, when my baby was 8 months again, I took in, gave birth again, it was a boy, and am pregnant of my third child now. When my second son came, the lady picked up quarrel with my husband and started telling the both of them to settle her that the contract marriage is over, that the barren woman has been vindicated. She said a lot of things saying my husband said am his ATM machine, that he will never run dry of money, a whole lot but today I give God the glory!
 
My mother inlaw left my house in shame! She has refused visiting, my husband himself feel so ashamed though I have told him that I have forgiven him. Where I am able to face this trial and become a conqueror, every woman should face all temptations with patience, God never sleep nor slumber!
 
My condition really showed me that KARMA IS REALLY A BITCH!

A Daily Post report has shown that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is insisting that the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, who is currently being held by the commission over some allegations that are yet to be officially made public, will not be left off the hook unless he issues a statement required of him as a suspect.

According to the report, a source privy to the investigation revealed that Metuh had insisted on having his lawyers and close aides around before he could issue any statement. The source further revealed that Metuh’s insistence was to ensure that he follows his lawyers’ instructions as the investigation progresses.

He said, ‘’honestly, the man has requested to see his lawyer before writing his statement and those in charge at the EFCC have refused him access to his lawyer. I think it’s reasonable that an individual under investigation, no matter the weight of the offence be granted access to consult his lawyers. I’m surprised that this is happening in a democratic dispensation.’’

However, reacting, in a telephone conversation with Daily Post the EFFC Spokesperson, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said, ”the man is still under investigation and until investigation is over, we cannot release him.’’

It will be recalled that Metuh was on Tuesday invited by the EFCC over some allegations that are yet to be made public.

Horror as Baby is Eaten Alive by Rats After Mum Went Clubbing (Photo)

A woman careless and irresponsible mother has brought death to her child and calamity to herself after she unwittingly allowed rats to eat her child alive. 


 
A horror event has left a mother heartbroken after rodents chewed off parts of her child’s face and fingers at a rundown house in Acolman near Mexico City. The mother, it is believed to have left the baby at home while she went out clubbing.
 
The 18-year-old mother identified as Lizbeth Jeronima Fuentes Munguia, alerted neighbours after returning home in the early hours of Tuesday morning and finding the little girl lying lifeless in her cot.

The baby was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics rushed to the property to try to save her. Police have arrested the woman.
 
According to local reports, the baby’s unnamed grandmother, who had been left in charge of the youngster, had also been held.

The sacrificial exercise being practised

A gory image has emerged from a diabolic and fetish ceremony involving some traditional African practice still imbibed in many rural communities. 

 
This was seen in Cameroon few weeks back, according to a social media user. An unnamed boy was undergoing "spiritual cleansing" in a village with the blood of a goat which was used to bathe him as he knelt down unclad.
 
Traditional practices are still paramount in the rural parts of Africa and sometimes adopted by the elites to overcome life challenges even though their newly adopted faith kicks against it.

BREAKING! Ex-PDP Chairman Who Attended Trial in Wheel Chair and Son Granted Bail

Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Dr Haliru Mohammed alongside his son who are standing trial in the ongoing $2bn arms deal scandal, have been granted bail.

The one time PDP chairman, Dr Haliru Mohammed, has been granted bail alongside his son, Abba, by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
 
The presiding judge over the case, Ahmed Mohammed in his ruling granted the accused persons bail on a bond of N300 million each.
 
“This ruling is rested on the bail applications brought to this court by the first and third defendants,” Mohammed said.
 
The judge added that: “The issue to be determined is whether the applicants have tendered sufficient evidences to support their bail applications.”
 
Quoting the constitution the judge also said bail can be denied if the applicant if granted bail will commit another offense, jump bail and/ or interfere with ongoing investigation.
 
The first defendant, Abba is to provide a bond of N300 million, two sureties – one of whom must be a civil servant not below grade level 12 and the other must own a landed property in Abuja in like sum of the bond.
 
Abba is also expected to deposit his travel passport with the court and his sureties will submit an affidavit of means and their passport photographs to the court.
 
He must also remain in  Kuje prison pending the perfection of his bail conditions.
 
For the the third defendant, Haliru, he is expected to provide a bail bond of N300 million, two sureties – one a director in the civil service and the other a land owner within Abuja.
 
The land must also be valued at N300 million and the documents of the land will be deposited at the court till the end of the trial.
 
The sureties will also deposit their passport photographs to the court and an affidavit of means. Haliru is also expected to deposit his travel passport to the court.
 
The judge also ordered that he remains under the supervision of the inspector general of police while on admission at the Abuja clinics as earlier ordered until the conditions are met.
 
Mohammed further adjourned the case to Tuesday, February 16 for definite hearing on the matter.
 
Recall that on Tuesday, January 5, the court had adjourned the ruling on a bail application by the duo, but they have both been granted bail.

Executive assistants angry with Gov Ugwuanyi over payment of one month salary

There were mixed feeling yesterday when over 600 appointed  executive assistants to the state governor received bank alert of 50000 naira being one month salary.
While some of them were happy because  of harsh economic realities on ground after festive expenses, most  of them that were angry  anchored their agitation on the fact they should be paid salary since they were appointed about 3 months ago salary starting from when they were appointed.

PDP speaks On Olisa Metuh’s Arrest By EFCC

Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrived the Abuja home of the spokesman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh this morning, inviting him to follow them to the commission’s headquarters.

Upon enquiry on the reasons for the invitation, the officials stated that he has some issues to clear with the commission. They also said he was not being arrested but friendly invited. The operatives, four in number, came in a White unmarked Toyota Hiace bus.

As at the time of issuing this statement, Chief Metuh is still being kept at the commission’s headquarters and his lawyers were making frantic efforts to reach him.

While details of why Chief Metuh was invited is yet to be made pubic by the commission, it could be recalled that severally, Chief Metuh, as the mouthpiece of the opposition party had alerted in various press conferences and statements that he has been under threat and that the ruling party and the government have been very uncomfortable with his stance.

The latest being the outburst and threats by the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Oyegun in reaction to Chief Metuh’s criticisms of President Buhari’s widely criticized response on government’s disobedience of court orders, during the last Wednesday’s Presidential Media chat.

The Office of the National Publicity Secretary will keep the public updated on any development on the issue.

Brigadier General Victor Ezugwu: New Commanders for Operation Lafiya Dole, 7 Division Take Over

The outgoing theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Yushau Abubakar, has described officers and men of the Nigerian Army as heroes, having put their lives on the line in defence of the nation. General Abubakar, who is now the Chief of Training and Operations at the Nigerian Army headquarters, stated this while handing over to the new theatre Commander, Major General Hassan Umaru. “I am very delighted today, as I am leaving the leadership of the Operation Lafiya Dole a happy man because we have successfully done what is best for the military and the country at large, as we have degraded the capacity of the terrorists and Nigerians should appreciate hard work performed by the military and I am leaving the scene to a person who is already in the theatre of war and is familiar with the terrain in the area of the operation. “I consider all of you as my heroes, as all of you have contributed to the feat we achieved in the war against the insurgency. My redeployment to the Army headquarters is an indication of the confidence the military high command have in us and I urge you to extend the gesture to my successor,” he said. Also handing over, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, Major General Lamidi Adeosun, urged officers and men of the division to cooperate with his successor, Brigadier General Victor Ezugwu , who he described as a fine infantry officer who would continue the good work until the terrorists are completely wiped out. General Adeosun has been reassigned to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) with headquarters in Chad.

THE MAN UWAKWE EZEJA BY ONYEKACHI UGWU

If news emanating from the desk of Enugu Boardroom in this regards is to have any iota of credibility and I sure hope it does, then for the first time Igbo Eze North gets it very Right as the choice of UWAKWE EZEJA  goes a long way to underscore the committment of our Governor His Excellency Ifeanyi Ugwuanyis to put round pegs in round holes thereby reinventing grass root administration.UWAKWE EZEJA, a renowned labour leader, a quintessential and seasoned administrator, a caring and resolute believer in the greatest happiness of the greatest number is certainly a man God has readied for greater calling.

I met this man of prodigious ability and consummate personality way back in the 90's when he held sway as NULGE Chairman. It is worthy of note that he distinguished himself and became a darling of the workers and a Nemesis to any lack lustre administrator that toyed with workers welfare. I had a chance discussion back then with him and was enarmoured by his depth, charisma, flair and determination to do things right.

In 2003, I met him again While he  held sway as the sole administrator of Udenu Local Government on whose shoulder was  laid the responsibility of organizing the 2003 local Government Election by the then Governor, Chimaroke.  I recall he invited some critical stakeholders cutting across all frontiers and made it plain that as the head of administration in the council area, he can only succeed with the support of all. He warmed his way into our hearts and We committed to Working with him. And what a robust relationship We had with him.
In the ensuing election, Uwakwe,  despite the charged atmosphere and near break down of law and order, never cringed as lesser mortals would. He rose to the occasion effortlessly as great leaders are wont to and brought the scenario to normalcy.

It is also needful to State that within so short a period in Udenu,  he left many prime legacies to his credit.

Worthy in his great life is the fact that unlike others, he does not court controversy, nor employ aggression in his dealing with individuals and or groups. As a politician he is urbane, mature, grassrooted, down to earth and above all a man of his words.

If the Governor does select him, and I am not prempting the wisdom of the Governor.... I dare say that such is one Good appointment IGBO Eze North people would not forget in a  hurry. Therefore, let us all pray and roll out our drums in readiness to felicitate with him, the Good people of IGBO Eze North if it happens......

Uwakwe Ezeja is the best man  for the job at a time as critical as this.....being a confirmed, tested and trusted manager of men and resources....

Man accidentally kills step-mother with an axe in Enugu

Bennedeth Anyim was allegedly killed with an axe by her step-son, Friday Anyim when she tried to stop a fight between two siblings in a community in Umuenem,Ezinesi-Oduma in Enugu State.

The suspect, Friday Anyim, was said to have been in a fight with his older sister, Abigail Anyim, in an argument over the sale of  a water  tank which he needed to raise money for the purchase of a  motorcycle, -Okada-for commercial purposes.

It was gathered that Friday, who is a son of one of the three wives of his father, Anyim Samuel, had, in anger, picked up an axe, and thrown it at his sister but the deceased (his step-mother) rushed to intervene and was hit by the flying axe.

The attack killed his step mother and he took to his heels.

Enugu State Police Command Public Relations Officer,PPRO,Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the incident in a statement, adding that the deceased’s husband who was in a meeting in a nearby house, raced  home  on hearing the news and found his wife in a pool of  blood.

An unnamed woman delivered her baby inside a Keke Marwa on New Year Day. According to the person who posted the photos on Friday, January 1, the woman went into labour and was taken to a local Health Centre in a Keke but there was nobody there.

They quickly set up the tricycle into a mobile hospital and with the help of his wife who happens to be a medical doctor, and his sisters-inlaw, the woman was safely delivered of her baby. Read his post below:

"On my way to see my mother inlaw with my family this evening, my sister inlaw whose family house is directly opposite the LGA health centre (Iji Nike Cottage Hospital, Near Enugu East Development Centre Nkwo Nike) flagged us down( we didnt plan to stop by ), few minutes later a young man in his late twenties ran in panting...."my wife is in Labour in that health centre and there is nobody there" . In less than 5 minutes a mobile hospital was set setup in the "keke" that brought in the woman. To the glory of God, my wife who is a Dr delivered the woman of a bouncing baby boy at 6:30pm 01/01/2016. My sisters inlaw turned nurses instantly and the touchlight in my phone provided the lighting. Thank you Lord"

My Nigeria: My Perspective.

My friend has always known me to be very passionate about Nigeria. It was therefore such a shock to him that we were losing 3-0 with less than 20 mins to go in an international football match, and I appeared not to be bothered. To him, it was an embarrassment to the nation.
Unfortunately for my friend, he didn't know that it was a repeat match that I had watched and that in less than 15 mins, we were soon to offset the deficit, and go on to win the match. Like Baba God, I had known the end from the beginning!!!
There is another dimension called the DISCERNMENT. In discernment, you have the gift of being able to see afar off what the natural eye cannot.
While watching the replay of a match is natural, discernment is super-natural, (or spiritual).

Unfortunately, very unfortunately, many leaders who should operate at the realm of being able to 'see' a future, hardly can see beyond their nose. The consequence is that our states and nation operate on development designs that have no MASTERPLAN. One may not quite get the implication, but as an Architect, I know it is disaster to embark on a new town development project, or any project for that matter, without a masterplan.

Today, very few have an idea of what is going on in Nigeria.
Nigeria is not just another nation. Nigeria, -as Rev Chris Okotie most aptly acknowledged-, is a CLIENT NATION for God. The implication of the above is that many thing about Nigeria do not operate on 'normal' principles.
To most of us, events unfold on a daily basis, and we follow them as they unfold. Only a few, very few, can see the hand of divinity that is controlling what comes across as the handwork of men.
Have you ever given real thought to the Ebola issue? We are generally very 'carefree' as a people, how did we manage to contain such a deadly disease so much so that countries like America had to come and understudy us? Think about it. What do you think is restraining the godless, heartless, vampires called bh from overrunning the country? Our skills, while giving big credit to our very galant soldiers, the fact remains that 'but for God....'!!
I could spend a full day on matters that we take for granted, whereas less than 5% of such matters have wrecked other countries!

Today, we are in what could be described as the third phase of the NEW NIGERIA PROJECT.

The first phase was anchored by OBJ. He came to clear the bush. Lots of trees needed to be felled. We needed a man in the mould of a general that would take no prisoners. Tough, almost ruthless, elderly enough to command the respect that the African tradition accords elders, and relatively experienced. For reasons best known only to God, a man almost condemned to die, was released from prison and entrusted with the job. That man was OBJ.
Like him or hate him, he was the instrument that God used to stabilize democracy in Nigeria. At the end of eight years, the ground had been cleared and ready for setting out of the project. OBJ's third term bid failed not because of the work of the hands of any man, but because his role had been completed.
Setting out needed a lot of care and precision. Yar'Adua was drafted in by God himself. He believed in the rule of law. He was humble, and good hearted. His successor had his exact temperament. Goodluck believed in the rule of law. He believed in institutions, and in freedom of information, association, and expression. He committed himself to the principles of democracy, and bequeathed the legacy of an election that has so far been described as the freest, fairest, and most transparent. He allowed for viable opposition, and paid the price without regret. Today, the international community has crowned him as the Next Big Thing from Africa -after MANDELA!
His work was done, the foundations had been dug. He had to give way for the Nigeria Project to move on.
Today, despite three previous failed attempts, it has become obvious that past 'rejections' only made way for TIME. At the fullness of time, PMB has stepped in.

What is his job?
He is to lay the reinforcements, and raise the blocks to possibly conclude the sub-structure part of the Nigeria Project.

The essence of the above analysis, again, is to draw our attention to the following important facts:
-That there is a Big Picture called The Nigeria Project.
-That this Nigeria Project is a divine mandate and thus beyond the control of man, any man.
-That we must see this project as less of a competition, and more of TEAM WORK.
-That the emergence of all the presidents from 1999 has been pretty unexpected, almost 'divine' -OBJ was released from jail to take over, Yar'Adua was not in the picture where the Odilis and the Attahs were the front runners till the last second 'coup' by OBJ, that GEJ emerged from the doctrine of necessity, that PMB had contested and did't make it untill this last attempt. GEJ didn't fail election because he was clueless, nor did he concede defeat because he didn't enjoy being in Aso Rock, his time was simply up and he had to be asked nicely to leave. What set him out was that he was obedient whereupon God rewarded him with global recognition.

What I have tried to draw our attention to, again, is the fact that there is a bigger controlling hand on the affairs of our country, than what we tend to see on the surface.

If we appreciate the above, we will stop insulting our leaders (past and present), and NEVER attempt, even in the remotest possible way, to deify any leaders, -governors, or president. They are no more or less fallible than you and I, nor any more special.
They are only HUMANS vested with responsibility, and thus deserving of our RESPECT and SUPPORT.

Finally, 2019 is not in the hands of any mortal. If God decides that PMB has not completed his role by 2019, not even all the politicians put together will be able to stop him. If they try, they will fall for his sake. BUT, if God decides that he has finished his work, he will do himself and his family the greatest favor by bowing out honorably.

My greatest concern for now is how PMB sees and plays his role in this New Nigeria Project.
He is to address the final leg of the sub structure stage. He is to get us to think straight, to bring back holy fear, to rid us of excesses and impunity. He is to restore sanity, and address the issue of corruption frontally. He is to restore patriotism and nationalism. The assignment is not about him, his offenses, or for retaliations.
THIS WHOLE PROJECT IS NOT ABOUT HIM.

Have you noticed how he is seemingly getting 'demystified'? Have you wondered why?
It will get worse until PMB 'tears' his cloths and cries to the people that he is not the saviour, messiah, or demi-god with awesome powers to do and undo. This is God's project and not any man's.
Next, we must manage our expectations and understand that the New Nigeria Project will take quite some time. If PMB is able to get us to think straight in four years, the proper foundation would have been laid for the super-structure (above foundation) construction of our individual and collective Progress and Economic Prosperity. When out attitude is right, then will come sustainable power and infrastructure almost effortlessly. Our Housing, Healthcare, Education and other sectoral challenges in our economy will be addressed. Nigeria will become a preferred destination, our currency will become strong, people will rather choose to live in Nigeria than travel abroad to live, the green passport will become an object of pride that would commands the respect of international communities.
These are not wishes. They are pre ordained divine pronouncements.

I have tried to point out a few incidences that some had assumed to be mere coincidences -while others hardly noticed. Inspite or despite, with or without, the Nigeria Project is not negotiable.

The international community has limited role to play. The answer is here with us.
Mr President must refocus, redirect, reconsider, retreat, return, and reorientate us to rebuild our nation. No country will, or even can, do this for us. Like the woman in the labour room, we must be the one to PUSH the baby from our womb.
Every Nigerian has a baby that must be born. Like an experienced midwife, Mr President must skillfully guide us through this delivery process.
What we do not see about us, other nations do. We are a real threat to many nations, how silly will they be to 'help' us? Remember Pharaoh and the Israelite women in labour? They will only come to kill our babies on instruction from 'Pharaoh'!!! But it will not happen, They will only watch us deliver our babies!

May God, in His infinite mercies help us to see us for who we really are -a chosen people, a blessed nation, a special and favoured country, and not beggars.
It is well with Nigeria in Jesus Name.
