Enugu demotes, redeploys 31 principals over alleged fraud

About thirty one principals in various public secondary schools in Enugu State, have so far been demoted and redeployed for allegedly
collecting illegal fees, while some were suspended for six months without pay for engaging in examination fraud.
The state Commissioner for Education, Prof Uchenna Eze, who disclosed this in his office when members of the state command of the Anti-Corruption Awareness Organisation of Nigeria (ACAON) visited him, stated that the affected principals were “caught red-handed with large wads of cash,” alleged to have been collected from their students to aid examination malpractices during the just concluded West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations.
Uche, who described as “horrible,” what he witnessed at most examination centres visited during the WAEC examination, said such cannot, and should never be condoned in any decent society.
He stressed that no efforts would be spared towards cleansing the school system, and restoring public confidence in public schools in the state.
The commissioner also informed that 365 evaders of retirement, who either falsified their age, or length of service were discovered and instantly retired, while 212 ghost workers were discovered and their salaries stopped.
Eze blamed stakeholders for the weak foundation of education in the state, which has resulted in the current poor performance by students, saying they had discouraged hard work through the promotion of malpractices among the students.
He pointed out that the greatest challenge that the society faces was attitudinal change, and pledged to partner fully with ACAON to bring in positive enlightenment that would eliminate corruption in the sector
in the state.
ACAON state leader, Mr. Bassey Okon, alerted that the actions of proprietors of illegal examination centres also called “miracle centres” was seriously undermining excellence in the industry.He therefore called on the commissioner to immediately move to stop the trend
As caring people, when someone is going through a difficult time, we often want to give them advice. But when someone is in pain, it’s not always the best time to impart our wisdom. Sometimes, all a person wants from us is a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on, and an ear to listen.
Be there for someone if you see them in pain. Don’t give advice. Do not lecture. Just sit there, hold their hands and give all the love you can.
Mistakes are part of the divine learning process.
Instead of beating yourself up over them, try to learn from them. Let them lead you to wisdom, inner change, and better destinations.
Sometimes going forward actually means going inward , asking ourselves: What am I doing, and why am I doing it? Am I improving the lives of others? Am I improving my own life? Is what I am doing each day making the world a better place?
By taking the time out of our busy lives to ask ourselves these and other important questions, we can arrive at the answers that are meant to take us to our next level.
There are so many times in our lives that we live robotically. When we go to work each day, do we do it just to make a living, or do we think about how we can be of assistance to those around us? When we do mundane chores around the house, do we do it because we have to or because we want to create a beautiful space for those we love? When we pass people on the street, do we ignore them or do we give a smile and say a little prayer for them?
It’s not easy to live with this consciousness, but it does make a world of difference.

We sympathise with the Governor of the state for such a loss as we continue to pray for coexistence of all tribes anywhere in Nigeria.
There is a story about a simple shepherd boy who did not know how to pray. He was sad because he did not know how to reach the Gates of Heaven. Nevertheless, he desired so strongly to know and be close to the Creator that he stood outside the house of prayer, took his whistle, and blew it with all his heart.
Meanwhile, inside the house of prayer was a group of people who knew all the prayers but who also could not open the Gates of Heaven. When they heard the boy blowing his whistle outside, they called out, "Stop it!” and then muttered to themselves, “How can he do such a thing? Here we are in prayer and meditation, and he is blowing a whistle."
A certain man of God was in there among the people and he said, "Wait, stop yelling at him. The gates are open. The boy has opened up the Gates of Heaven with the sincerity of his heart!"
Most of us probably do not know all the words of all the prayers, and we may not be the most knowledgeable in spiritual matters. But really, it doesn’t matter because when our heart is pure and when we sing and pray in gratitude and love for being alive, we all are that boy with the whistle.
In Passover, the Israelites had to do a few actions. One was to commit themselves to letting go of what is referred to as “idolatry.”
If think about it, we all have forms of idolatry. We worship things or we act like we are loyal to certain people because of what they are, who they are, where they come from, what they can do for us, and/or how we can benefit from being close to them.
Don’t get me wrong. Of course there are certain people we need to have communication with for a reason, for business, or for developing our friendships. But sometimes we find ourselves worshiping people or things simply because they are greater or more powerful than we are. This is a form of idolatry, because in a way it is negating our own ability that was gifted to us. We are saying that in and of ourselves we are not enough. We should not feel that who we are is less than somebody else; we each have a different role, a different mission in this world.
One string is easy to break. But if you have a hundred strings together, you'll never be able to break that.
Yes, it’s a fact. We all will face chaos in our lives. Each and every one of us will have opportunities to climb the spiritual ladder. But as long as we are part of each other, bonded with some kind of spiritual community as a whole, we have more than one set of hands to help us.
Our lives, as long as we breathe, have the purpose, and that purpose is to imbue the life inside of ourselves, and to make it better for all of us.

During the time of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, the Levites were designated by God to be the singers because of their ability to draw the greatest amount of the Light. When people came into the Temple and heard the Levites singing, they suddenly forgot the negativity that they had come in with. The voices of the Levites opened the people’s hearts and eyes. They suddenly were able to fall into prayer with a consciousness and awareness that they had not felt before. That is how powerful music can be.
Spirituality is not something we "get" just because. It is something that we earn through our own growth and challenges. We must be willing to work for our spirituality, and most importantly to understand that the person next to us is just as important as we are.
We are all sparks of the same Light and we have all come for the same collective purpose--to remove chaos from the world, through the transformation of our personal negativity into Light.

When we are on a spiritual path, the God shows us the signs to let us know we are heading in the right direction.
Whatever it is that makes our consciousness more aware of our spiritual being does not happen by accident. It happens because we have reached another level where our soul is yearning for expansion. A book, a friend, a "coincidence" -- all can bring us to a new horizon.
Today, open yourself to signs and messages from the Creator. With a true desire to draw close to the Creator, we will receive the messages we need.
Spirituality is believing that everyone has the right to draw spiritual energy and to bring that Light into their lives and into the lives of others. It is being cognizant that this Lightforce transcends the physical world and exists in each and every person. Spirituality is about caring for the welfare of others and not just looking out for ourselves.
With we put this kind of spirituality into practice, we can arrive at a place where we have a sense of unity with our neighbor and the Creator's blessing in our lives and in the world.
The PDP, at the end of its 70th NEC meeting last week, zoned the position of national chairman to the North, in spite of threats by some chieftains of the party in the South-west to resign from the party if the position was not zoned to the region.
Malam Kano, who was a member of the 2015 PDP presidential campaign committee from Kano State, also faulted the party’s decision for ceding the right to produce the party’s 2019 presidential candidate to the North.
According to him, the decisions showed that the handlers of the PDP have deliberately refused to learn from history.
He said the PDP woefully failed in 2015 because of “supremacy of impunity”.
He said zoning of the two key positions to the North confirmed that the party was not ready to forsake the path of impunity.
Kano, therefore, called on the PDP NEC to revisit the decisions.
He said: “The PDP had started regaining its lost confidence from the electorates. But, with what we are witnessing recently, the forthcoming convention will do more harm than good to the party”.

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has described Governor Ayodele Fayose as an ingrate for saying that he would not support him (George) to become the national chairman of the party.
George also slammed Fayose for saying that PDP elders must take the backstage in the party’s affairs.
Speaking during an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, Fayose had blamed the loss of the 2015 general election on the elders of the party.
Fayose also dismissed the report that he was supporting the acting National Chairman of the PDP, Modu Sheriff, so that he (Sheriff) could pick him as his running mate when Sheriff finally declares his intention to run for the presidency.
The Ekiti governor had said, “Chief Bode George told me personally that he wanted to be the national chairman of the party, I told him no, that I won’t support him. With all due respect to the elderly people in this party, they must take the backstage. People are tired of seeing the same old faces again.”
But speaking in an interview with our correspondent on Monday, George said Fayose was opposing the interest of the South-West in the party, adding that his comments showed that he was an immature politician.
While stressing that the party needed experienced and matured leaders to pilot its affairs, George said age was not a barrier to good leadership but an asset.
He said the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, was older than him.
George said if the chairmanship position was eventually zoned to the South-West, he would consult with family and friends on whether or not to contest, adding that politics was not a do-or-die affair.
“The kind of chairman the PDP needs is someone that has integrity, one that is trusted and established,” he said.
George added, “Fayose spoke very immaturely during the interview. For him to have said that the founding fathers of the party should take the backstage in the party’s affairs was very disgusting and self-deceitful. I actually told him at an old meeting of the party that if the chairmanship of the PDP was zoned to the South-West, that I would show interest. He told me he had heard.
“Fayose is an ingrate because when the world was against him during his first term in office, God used me to give him support. I contributed N250,000 to purchase his campaign clothes. We must defend the interest of Yoruba because we have been sidelined in the party’s leadership for too long. Fayose and Senator Buruji Kashamu cannot continue to decide for the Yoruba people in the PDP.”
George also said Fayose lied that South-West PDP leaders did not show interest in contesting the national chairmanship position.
He added that Fayose’s claim that he reached out to Senator Bode Olajumoke to contest the chairmanship position was not true.
He said, “Fayose claims to be a Christian. Let him go and read the book of Micah, chapter 7, from verse 1-10 to learn more about leadership. Many people showed interest from the South-West, even Prof. Tunde Adeniran showed interest. Bode (Olajumoke) knows that Fayose is playing around. Bode and I discussed because we are friends.”
There is no work to engage more than half of the population, the ones working are not paid .The said workforce are ghost workers.
